Single-Player 3D Athletic Time Attack Action

About the Game

Athletic Trial is a third-person 3D athletic action game.

Race through obstacle courses, scale walls, leap across moving platforms, and dodge traps to reach the goal. Every stage features a time attack mode, so you can challenge your best times again and again.

Player Actions

Normal Movement & Jumping

On the ground, move freely with WASD and jump with Space. Rotate the camera with the mouse to change your character’s direction.

Sprint

While on the ground, hold Left Shift and move with WASD to run faster than the default walk speed. Release Shift to return to normal speed. Sprint has no effect while wall-climbing.

Wall Climbing

  1. Approach a wall and press E to grab on
  2. Use WASD to move in 8 directions — up, down, left, right, and diagonals
  3. When you reach the top edge, tap E to climb over the ledge
  4. Hold E or press Space to release from the wall (Space also performs a wall jump, launching you along the wall’s surface normal)

When you reach an outer corner (convex edge), your character will automatically transition smoothly to the adjacent wall face.

Wall Jump

While airborne near a wall, press Space to kick off and leap away. While climbing, pressing Space will detach you and launch you off the wall along its surface normal. You can chain multiple wall jumps without touching the ground (up to 5 in a row). During a wall jump, press E near another wall to grab on and start climbing.


Time Attack

Rules

  1. The timer starts when you pass through the Start Zone
  2. The timer stops when you reach the Goal Zone
  3. Your clear time is recorded and compared against your best time

HUD Display

Your current time and best time are displayed in real time at the top-right of the screen.

Results Screen

After reaching the goal, the results screen appears.

  • Clear Time — Your time for this run
  • Best Time — Your fastest record so far
  • NEW RECORD — Displayed when you beat your previous best
  • Retry — Play the same stage again
  • Next Stage — Proceed to the next stage

Best times are automatically saved per stage and carry over between play sessions.


Tips for Improvement

  • Chain your wall jumps — Leap from wall to wall without landing to reach high places quickly
  • Never stop on falling islands — They start crumbling the instant you land, so jump to the next foothold right away
  • Use walls to block the wind — Wind has no effect while you’re grabbing a wall. Use climbing to outlast strong gusts
  • Aim for the platform pause — Moving platforms stop briefly at each end — that’s your safest window to hop on or off
  • Read the pulsing wind rhythm — Wait for the wind to stop before making your move
  • Don’t fear outer corners — Your character transitions to the adjacent wall face automatically, so keep going
  • Retry as much as you want — The timer resets every time you pass through the Start Zone. Keep at it until you’re satisfied
